Amber Menard is a betta hobbyist that has been passionate about keeping and breeding wild bettas. Amber began keeping and breeding domestic betta splendens at a young age. She eventually discovered elusive wild betta species, and became hooked. The conservation, preservation, and education of these amazing fish has become her life’s work. Amber is the owner and curator of the largest wild betta breeding collection in North America, and has had the honor of being recognized by CARES this year as a species ambassador for her work with these captivating fish. Amber is now working with 74 wild betta species and has several upcoming collection/documentation trips planned to Asia. Amber hopes to share this passion with others so that they may be inspired to start keeping wild bettas of their own.
